The Gloom has gone!
:)

The sun is out the sky is blue again and my mood is lifted!
Must make the most of it while I can.
I'm of to battle with the mound of leaves on the lawn ....

The Gloom!
The weather outside today is dismal and dreary. The weather does affect my mood so much. I get up on a sunny morning and immediately swing into action. Whereas this morning I crawled out of bed and I'm doing everything possible, even writing this, to avoid housework or writing. I've scanned the 'news', ambled through the bongo fury forum, watched the magpies take breakfast on the bird table and even meandered through the TOGS website. Eventually though I will have to summons up some energy and get on with life in general! I suppose I should be grateful of the fact I have luxury of being able to do things when I want IF I want! I would hate to have to join the rat race again. I may not be as well off as when I was working but quality of life is much better! I would certainly recommend early retirement to anyone who can afford a reasonable life style. The trouble is I have an evergrowing list of things to do but I find myself doing the enjoyable ones first! So eventually I'm going to be left with a list of things I really don't want to do and no excuse for avoiding them.

Summer is on it's way.

Summer is on its way at last. I recently took the above pano of the very colourful beach huts along the seafront at Hove. For those of you who know us, NO that is not Geoff jogging along the seafront!
*-))))))G

The other sign that summer is on its way is that we went out today and purchased a motor home. It is being 'bespoke' (so to speak) at present and Read More...

Snow in Sussex

Well after visiting Lancashire and admiring the snow up there it must have 'followed us home' to Sussex. Last Sunday we had quite a covering here in Worthing. But by time we went out on Monday it had already started disappearing from the downs. The above pano was taken from 'Jack and Jill' windmills to the north of Brighton. Today I've been out in the garden putting in my Sweet Peas and it was really warm in the sun . This weather is really unpredictable. I do like the way the press have stopped using the phrase global warming and have replaced it with the phrase climate change. I'm sorry but I for one am not convinced - I really don't think the records go back far enough for anyone to say that there is any significant changes. It is generally agreed that there have been three mini ice ages, beginning about 1650, about 1770, and 1850, each separated by slight warming intervals, but the scientists are still arguing and debating about those! I love the comment I heard the other day that weather forecasters are the only people who continually mess up their jobs but still manage not to get sacked! Me I'll just carry on taking the weather as it comes!

Back From Lancashire

We have not long returned from a visit to Lancashire and whilst there we also enjoyed travelling round Yorkshire Derbyshire & Cumbria. There was just a light dusting of snow which wasn't enough to stop us exploring but as you can see from above did add to the scenic beauty of the places visited. The wind was biting at times and as they say in Lancs it was a 'lazy' wind - went straight through you instead of round! It bought back memories of my Mum trudging me around Chorley Market to get her bargains whilst I complained constantly how cold I was, she must have had some patience! Whenever I say to people down here in Sussex that I am visiting Lancashire their eyes glaze over and they don't look impressed at all but it will never stop me enthusing about the place. The countryside is beautiful, the markets are PROPER markets, the cost of living is still cheaper,(Just!) and the people are friendlier! Just wish it was a bit warmer but you can't have everything.

We also visited Worden Park in Leyland which was the inspiration for my Dragon Story in the hope I could get some more inspiration and continue the story!!! I really must - so watch this space. Trouble is I must become more disciplined in my writing, I easily become distracted and I like to think that the housework shopping etc is done before I sit down to write.
looooo

I'm off to get myself in the right frame of mind!
