The gap in proceedings is because we have been travelling in Minnie (AKA Ford Freda AKA Mazda Bongo). Mid July was spent ambling around Canterbury & Guildford, visiting nearby National Trust properties such as Ightham Moat, Scotney Castle, Sissinghurst & Dapdune Wharf. We got our Minniebago (AKA Mazda Bongo, AKA Ford Freda), joined the Bongo Fury club, read the forum, went to the Bongo Bash and were in awe of how others spend hours and pounds pimping their vehicles. But alas we are now being 'sucked in'. On the hottest day of the year so far Geoff (My other half) has spent the day in the midday sun fitting an awning, and adding a camera to the front of Minnie to ensure she goes safely under height barriers! Tomorrow we are expecting the delivery of the back rack and storage box and I expect the sun will again be baking again as we spend ages sweating over the instructions and spanners!. Murphy's law will come into play shortly and as soon as we plan our next trip the sun will disappear never to be seen again!

We have now 'gathered more of the necessities for our Minniebago and Geoff has taken his first Panorama of the inside of her.
(Doesn't Geoff look a happy chappy - perhaps it's something to do with his lack of feet!

The large gap in blog entries is because we now have our motor home and we have been busy getting all the bits and bobs!
It's not so much a Winnebago - more a Minnebago! (Thanks Ian for the suggestion -she suits the name Minnie!)
Well actually she is a Ford Freda AKA Mazda Bongo.
I must admit to exaggerating a little (OK quite a lot!) in my last blog but I'm not called Evil Edna for nothing!
The Japanese certainly know how to produce and look after their cars – if we had bought a 10-year-old British Car, it would not have electric blinds, electric windows, and mirrors that tuck themselves away, and it would not have been so well cared for with only 42k miles on the clock.
I am now busy learning a whole new language, Grey Water, Zig unit, awnings and figure of eights! But I must say I’m really chuffed with it, the beds seem comfy, I will confirm that when we have had our first night bongoing!
The fridge is keeping our drinks nice and cool and the driving of it is so easy – so far! Lets just hope the price of petrol doesn't keep climbing at the rate it has recently!
