Travels with the Bongo
The gap in proceedings is because we have been travelling in Minnie (AKA Ford Freda AKA Mazda Bongo). Mid July was spent ambling around Canterbury & Guildford, visiting nearby National Trust properties such as Ightham Moat, Scotney Castle, Sissinghurst & Dapdune Wharf. They are all very scenic but I think my favourite has to be Scotney Castle.

Then it was on to Lancashire to visit family and friends. I had a lovely day on Southport beach. Even the donkeys were still giving rides, but I had forgotten how the sand gets EVERYWHERE! However, that aside the sun really shone and I do not think £3 was at all bad to park on the beach all day.

Whilst in Lancashire I stayed at the Royal Umpire Campsite at Croston which is a really lovely clean welcoming campsite and the rain stayed away which for Lancashire is good. Nevertheless, seen as I am Lancashire born and bred I do not mind getting damp!

Now I am busy planning our next tour – watch this space!
