Copy of e-mail from Kathy Seguss (Nee Seguss) she recieved from Sharon Hodges
Hi Kathy,
It is great to hear from you.
Unfortunately I have not been able to get past Richard and Charlotte until
now, so thankyou. Going by the 1851 census for Bromley, Richard was born
abt 1822 . Richard and Charlotte were not listed in the 1881 census for
Kent so I am assuming that they were dead before then. Their daughter
Lydia was my 2xg/grandmother and she was born abt 1851 Chislehurst and
died 7 Nov 1886 Rockhampton, Qld, Australia. Lydia married William
Weatherley 28 July 1870 in London. Her sister Elizabeth Alice was born abt
1858 Chislehurst and died 9 Nov 1946 Springsure, Qld, Australia. Now after
Lydia died Elizabeth Alice married her widowed husband William Weatherley
12 Sept 1887 Rockhampton, Qld. From stories that I've been told Elizabeth
married William only to look after her sister's children. What I can do is
send family group sheets for Richard and the 3 children via e-mail if you
like.

Copy of letter to Terry Seguss from Tom Dodds regarding Pamela Roseta Seguss:-
Dear Terry,
Thank you for your letter. The information supplied is really interesting. I Will send you a copy of my tree very soon and you will see how it fits in.
My Grandfather was born James Home Seguss b. 16.6.1868. When he married his marriage certificate shows him as James Hone Seagust. He was the first child(illegitimate) of Pamela Roseta Seguss, who is on your tree. She was born in North Cray 2.9.1849.
Pamela Roseta married James Adams (b. 17.12.1843) on the 10.2.1872. Although James called himself by the family name of Adams he was illegitimate and was born with the name of Weeden. They had eight children:
Walter Adams 1875
Rosa Florence Adams 1884 (NB:-1881 Census states born 1876/77)
Daisy Adams 1885
Alfred Charles Adams 1873
William Adams 1881
Sarah Adams 1881
Philip Hyde Adams 1888
Minnie Adams 1879
James Adams died 21.8.1890. Pamela re-married. She married George Brigden
3.10.1892-
He was a Widower and already had 6 children of his own:
John Brigden 1860
Alice Brigden 1875
Martha Brigden 1863
Edward Brigden 1877
Thomas Brigden 1872
Charles Brigden 1880
My own personal mystery is, who is the father of James Home Seguss? There are two clues. His birth certificate gives his fathers occupation as a rag cutter in the paper mill and his middle name of Home, which is not a family name. I believe the paper mill was the Parchment Mills that use to be in St. Mary Cray. Any ideas how I could find out?
Thanks for the information you have sent and I will be writing to you again soon. It is really good to have someone else who is interested in all of this.
Yours sincerely-
Tom Dodds
